The Coal Mine concept + FANEXPO

I think I'm just too easily swayed into pursuing new approaches to creating things. After playing a bit of League of Legends (finally managed to get it to work on my macbook pro) I suddenly felt the urge to paint "concept art" like stuff LOL....
So here's a concept... of umm an Alien ship that is also a mining camp for an energy crystal. It's just a work in progress, but it was pretty fun. This was also accompanied with an ESSAY of something like an outline for a game story ahhaa... whyy why do I get so carried away sometimes!

I couldn't get this finished before Fanexpo though, but I'll have 3 new original prints for viewing/selling at Fanexpo, so come by and check em out! My display stand will probably all be original art, so if you're into my fanart prints... just come and ask and I'll show you the secret catalogue. ;)

Some Gifs! woah 4 different styles!

I made a gif of the rough sprites for M-02's run! There's still some things I have to fix with the animation, but I had some fun exporting the .gif file tonight haha. The different styles are so cool! I hate how frustrating it is to animate on photoshop though... I mean there's video layers but is there away to add frames in between already drawn frames? Every time I work with photoshop it has been just straight ahead animation. It's only really good for colouring and adding a tonne of effects to the colouring of animation I guess =___=

Standard Colour version, the final is actually a quarter the size of this guy

Project Monkey

Working for a facebook game lately. Learning more about pixel art and sprites! This is M-02 a test subject gone wild! Project Monkey is still in early production, but here's the facebook page. Like the page to keep up-to-date with the game!

Some quick rough sketches of my initial take with the character

I am currently working on finishing the sprite sheet :), these sketches were posted with permission

Quixotic Art Book: Across the Universe

About the piece
I love sea life, coral, anemone and clams. This is just a painting of a feeling of magic, imagination and adventure to me. Too bad I can't swim, but I love flying, so maybe that's why I chose to bring the sea life to the surface?

Photoshop CS5: 2 days (just got back from Montreal and Baltimore, busy busy busy these days!)About the Book
Our charity art book donates 100% of the proceeds to the non-profit organization American Cancer Society. Also, depending how the project works out, some of the profits may also be used to create/publish a coloring book for impoverished kids in New Jersey. The book itself will be about 8.5"x11" sized and have more than 100 artists participating.
